Big Fish
Dir. Kate Arecchi, James Madison University
Based on the 2003 film, and 1998 novel of the same name, Big Fish follows Edward Bloom, a charismatic traveling salesman known for his eccentric & far-fetched stories, and his son Will, who seeks to uncover the truth behind his tales, and understand the man behind him. Big Fish was produced at James Madison University from Feb 25 - March 2, 2025.
On this show, I was the production publicist. This role entailed managing all social media and print publicity for the production, liaising with the JMU School of Theater & Dance media team, while following a integrative marketing campaign that was supported by the director’s vision for the show.
Major deliverables included the show poster, rehearsal photos, and several promotional videos.

Rehearsal Photography

Video
In my publicity campaign, I filmed and edited videos documenting the rehearsal process. Additionally, I highlighted the song, Time Stops, one of the most special and intimate moments of the show, so I chose to produce a short video of this song with the lead actors and music director. These were posted on the @jmumusicaltheatre Instagram.
